A taste of life at the terrorist sharp end, well made and slick. I just wish the story was stronger, and the gung ho US strutting more muted. I enjoyed it nevertheless..........

A great Saturday afternoon

I took myself off to see this to avoid Christmas shopping with my Mum. The film has great acting, an exciting and believable plot and is very topical. It also made you think! Ridley Scott has the ability to tell a good story - and Russel Crowe still looked great even with those extra pounds added on for the part. Leonardo diCaprio proved once again that he can be a believable action hero - thinking back to Blood Diamond. Would strongly recommend.

This is no lie...a decent action thriller.

Body of lies is a terrific action thriller which is a relief after the disappointing Quantam of Solace and the terrible Max Payne. One of the biggest strengths of this film is the storyline about the world of spying agianst terroists on Iraq. The story is sensitive and powerful but is handled remorsefully and amicably as Ridely Scott the director has a talent as he has produced some superb other films like Gladiator where is also worked along side Russel Crowe, which incoporates this films other strength, the acting from Crowe, Dicaprio and strong was fantatstic blending together perfectly with the story, but i did feel as though Decapiro, his aura fell short of expecations for an action hero as he had this charasmatic look about him of acting almost childlike. But Scott has managed successfully to manipulate the audience into a systamatic way of thinking of who is to trust in the film which adds to the suspense and tension. The action sequences were also good, however this is where the criticism has to come in as i felt there wasn't enough of this in the film making the plot too effectively explored as i found my attention waning at certain times. Another thing is that there was a romance story that could have been developed more but wasn't, which with what happens later could have made the film more exciting, but apart from that a decent action thriller and certainly better than Quantam of Solace.
